Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) is a premier professional body for concrete technology with more than 13,000 members spread over 44 centers and over 300 student chapters across India. It has on its fold the captains of Construction Industry, Building Material manufacturers, Leading Consultants & Civil Engineers, Contractors, Academicians and Educational Institutions. ICI was founded in 1982 with its headquarters at Chennai. The objectives of ICI are to promote growth of concrete construction and its sub- specialisations, disseminate knowledge and to train personnel, collaborate with National and International agencies in creating better understanding of concrete construction technology, to identify R&D issues, encourage outstanding achievements in concrete construction technology through its institutional awards etc. ICI organises periodical seminars, conferences, workshops and exhibitions on the subject and arranges lecture series on selected topics of relevance to concrete construction. ICI has collaborations with American Concrete Institute, Asian Concrete Federation, Singapore Concrete Institute, Concrete Institute of Australia, etc. ICI publishes quarterly Journal containing peerreviewed technical papers & abstracts from about 40 journals. ICI has also brought out a number of publications and monographs on various related topics.
